OIA SYSTEMS · RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT

Better decisions.
Stronger recovery.

OIA Systems is researching governed decision-support tools that help infrastructure and insurance practitioners validate risk, challenge assumptions and recognise connected exposure.

Early R&D · No production deployment · Human authority remains in control

THE PURPOSE

Validate what is known. Expose what is connected.

Complex operations rarely fail because of one isolated event. Risk accumulates through fragmented evidence, weak escalation, normalised workarounds, missing assurance and diminishing recovery margin.

OIA Systems is exploring how governed reasoning can test whether recorded risks and controls remain supported by evidence—and reveal convergence without replacing professional judgement.

CORE R&D PROJECT

V36

A governed reasoning spine designed to organise evidence, expose uncertainty, challenge conclusions and support safer human decisions.

01

Evidence first

Claims remain linked to their source, status and limitations.

02

Control logic

Controls, constraints, dependencies and recovery margin remain visible.

03

Challenge built in

Alternative explanations, gaps, disagreement and uncertainty are tested.

04

Human authority

People retain final decision, escalation and promotion authority.

DEVELOPMENT APPROACH

Controlled learning, not uncontrolled autonomy.

The work progresses through governed scenarios, regression testing, calibrated evidence, traceable changes and practitioner review.

RESEARCH PROGRAMME

Two environments. One evidence problem.

The same fragmented evidence can affect operational decisions inside an organisation and risk decisions made by insurers and advisers.

TRACK 01

Critical infrastructure

Validating risks, controls and dependencies across assets, operations, suppliers, cyber systems and resilience planning.

  • Operational and asset risk
  • Control-evidence validation
  • Cross-system dependencies
TRACK 02

Insurance and risk capital

Exploring how traceable evidence and connected exposure could support underwriting, risk engineering and portfolio understanding.

  • Commercial underwriting evidence
  • Risk engineering insight
  • Accumulation and dependency awareness

PRACTITIONER REVIEW

Help challenge the research before field testing.

OIA Systems welcomes critique from practitioners, researchers, insurers, risk advisers and potential future controlled-sandbox participants. No operational or sensitive information is requested at this stage.
